Hard at work on Book 3!

Shannon has been hard at work on the new book. Starting with thumbnail sketches for layout, and now almost through the tight rough sketches. Then scan it all into the computer and ink and paint! Will update with more pictures soon :)

T-shirts

Sheila McDermid (author) had some hawbear t-shirts made for her grandaughter, Madilyn. She is wearing a 6 month size in yellow.  

We were pondering expanding our merchandise to t-shirts, is this something you would be interested in? If so, what colours? We would love to hear your feed back!

My little friend Maddie

This is my little friend Maddie who travelled across on the Chicheemaun with her grandparents to visit 'me', the author. We all enjoyed a nice dinner with friends which ended with Maddie's favourite dessert of rice krispie squares. I had a lovely letter she had written to me previously posted on my fridge for the longest time which made me smile each time I saw it. I hope we get to visit again Maddie!!!!

Little Ava enjoying "Hawbear Goes Camping", which, according to mom, has become an regular bedtime event. Thanks mom for sharing your pics with us. She'll soon be able to read it to her little baby brother!

Another author I had the pleasure of meeting.

Last summer, I recieved a lovely phone call asking if I would be willing to meet with Daniel St. Jean and his wife Denise to discuss writing and publishing books. I was pleasantly surprised as I'm very new to this career of writing children's books and surprised that others are interested in what I know about writing :)

Daniel has also written a book which you can access online at www.pedagrowfun.blogspot.com .

I wish him all the best and enjoyed our visit immensely.

Friends of the Library

Teddy Bear Picnic - Sheguiandah

A great day with young Hawbear fans at Sheguiandah's first Teddy Bear's Picnic.

Hawbear Goes Camping Launch weekend.

We'd like to thank everyone who came out for our launch of book 2, "Hawbear Goes Camping" on the May long weekend! We enjoyed visiting with all who stopped by and appreciate your support!
